Imagine A Day Foundation Announces Grants
Awarded to Oconomowoc Area School District Schools
Oconomowoc, WI – April 24, 2018. The Oconomowoc Area School District is pleased to announce four grant awards to classroom projects around the district, thanks to the generosity of the Imagine a Day Foundation. Approximately $8,700 was awarded to elementary and high school classrooms and projects.
Summit Elementary Art Educator Jill La Grange stated, “Our Summit artists are in the process of creating the coloring book and are thrilled to know their work will be published and enjoyed by all. Also, this past week was the first unveiling of the Make Art Everywhere Take Home Art Packs and our students are busy inventing, designing, creating and showcasing the art that they made at home.” She went on to say, “Our students and the elementary art educators of OASD are grateful for the Imagine a Day Foundation's generous gift, with their support, all of our students have the resources now to express themselves and foster their creativity through making visual art.”
The Imagine A Day Foundation was created in memory of Courtney Bella, by her father, Brad Bella. At age 10, Courtney was tragically killed in an automobile accident by an intoxicated driver in April of 2008. The name of the foundation was inspired by a poem Courtney wrote just weeks before her death.

Summit Elementary- Jill LaGrange
$2,000 for Make Art Everywhere with Take Home Art Packs
This grant is a collaborative project impacting all Oconomowoc Area Elementary Schools. Ultimately, 2,100 students across the district will have the opportunity to make art at home utilizing an Art Pack with a variety of art materials.
Summit Elementary – Jill LaGrange
$3, 000 for Color Me Oconomowoc Coloring Book
This project is a partnership with the Oconomowoc Area Historical Society Museum, to have fourth-grade art students design a coloring book to supplement the Oconomowoc Walking Tour.
Oconomowoc High School East Campus – Brock Ruhmor
$3,700 for a new 3D printer
The grant money will provide a new 3D printer at the Oconomowoc High School East Campus Art and Design Center.

Summit Elementary School students showcase their coloring book work of art. The Color Me Coloring Book is a “first-of-its-kind” in Oconomowoc and will be made available on the walking tour, at the Summit Elementary Little Free Library and as a free download on the Summit Elementary website.
